Painting to go on show at Turner Contemporary

Monday, 5 September 2022

Stuart's recent painting, Harriet, is set to go on display at Turner Contempory, Margate as part of the exhibition Extraordinary Portraits.

Opening on Wednesday 7 September, this exhibition will showcase the powerful portraits created in the BBC TV series, Extraordinary Portraits, in which rapper and presenter Tinie Tempah matches fourteen extraordinary people with twelve talented artists from across the UK, to create a series of breathtaking portraits.

Earlier this year, Stuart travelled to the Shetland Islands in Scotland to meet, spend time with, and paint Harriet Middleton.

Cancer survivor Harriet volunteered her knitting skills to help raise over £100,000 to buy Shetland's only hospital an MRI scanner. In this link-up, Stuart swapped his paintbrushes for knitting needles, forgoing his studio in Suffolk for the Scottish Isles to create the portrait of Harriet.
